Lakewood
Lakewood is a 5.5 square-mile suburb just west of Cleveland. A streetcar connected the village to downtown Cleveland in 1903, and the population and small business sector flourished throughout the 20th century. It is a vibrant community with high population density, low poverty rates, and large immigrant populations from the Middle East, Eastern Europe and South and Southeast Asia. Lakewood contains many of the regionโs beloved independent restaurants and bakeries, and is popular among young professionals and families.
